05/27/2016 This is not so much a gay film or even a love story but a film about tolerance and intolerance, culture clash, and changing times. Another reviewer suggests there are too many subjects and nothing is done with them but the fact that the film is not judgmental or moralising is one of its main strengths. The plot has to be a bit contrived to fit in so many themes but it works. The plot takes a number of different unexpected turns and moves at a good pace. Strong performances by all the cast. Recommended. See more 07/04/2014 A closeted Muslim, Bram, on his way into an arranged marriage falls for a young Belgian waiter. Meanwhile Bram's hoodlum younger brother joins an Islamist extremist mosque and his new beliefs become conflicted. Somewhere in this outline a decent plot could have been discovered and an equally decent film could have been made. So many subjects are brought up here, but it does nothing with any of them. It's not terrible, but very forgettable. See more 03/10/2013 interesting belgian-turkish mixed bag. at least it wasn't heavy. See more 02/03/2013 Verdienstelijke Vlaams-Turkse film. See more 10/10/2012 Très bonne illustration de la violence et l'intolérance des religions face à l'homosexualité. Très bon jeu d'acteur, ils ne sont pas caricaturaux. See more Read all reviews
