04/07/2013 This movie turned out to be a lot better than I expected. One of a few movies that I can watch back to back. See more 04/02/2013 watching Na and Ton embarking on a love affair had me missing Thailand so much. . . And it isnt for it's film making qualities. This was slow and simple, and the acting needs to be improved See more 11/23/2012 What I thought would be a uplifting film full of heart and emotion turns out to be a dull and uninspired plunge into depression. I don't want to give anything away, but I'll just say the end really makes you feel like the whole thing was pointless. Seriously, why even make a movie like this? The romance between the two main characters is kind of boring, and one never really feels like it's truly meant to be. This makes the motives of everyone involved seem meaningless as well. El paisaje es encantador y colabora con la melancolia que Assarat usa en el guion pero la pelicula se diluye a la medida que pasan los minutos, pierde fuerza y termina aburriendo y convirtiendose en un dramononón romántico. Interesante por la fotografia, los paisajes, por la percepcion post maremoto, por la cultura tailandesa. See more 12/04/2010 I found this a hard film to get a handle on. It's very slow moving, and I was never quite sure what were the norms of behaviour in this Thai community. It only gradually became clear how the tsunami had affected life and that unstated behind this portayal of the everyday was the violent death of many people. No obvious grieving, or trauma, but a society in despair, a crippled community. The final scenes are very disquieting. Not a comfortable film. See more Read all reviews
