The visuals are beautiful and the dark fantasy/christmas horror aesthetic is amazing. It’s magical but also haunting. The computer animation might be a bit outdated now, however, the imagery actually looks very accurate to the original book illustrations, which is why I like it so much. (Even if Disney was too greedy on thier expectations for its box office.) Now, it blooms in age to deem this adaptation on faithful par with the 1951 film over additional expressive depth upon improved visionary and Carrey’s earnestly ranging elevation that excelled the story’s soulful essence.
