This is an important homosexual film based on a first-rate novel with a first-rate cast and probably a harbinger of similar movies to come. Many viewers will be disappointed that the movie only hints at intimacy rather than showcasing it.

I had such a wonderful experience. Cinematically this movie is so great that no wonder it was directed by Tom Ford. Whoever worked on the sound did such a great job, sonically this movie is a masterpiece, from the soundtrack to the noises in the movie, incredible. Overall this is a very quotable drama movie with perfectly curated dialogues and remarkable acting. I was so surprised to find out that I never saw it but I’m so glad I did.

Too downtrodden for me. I get the sentiment. But the age difference stuff is a little weird. Also, the suits are distracting.

Only an artistic genius like Tom Ford could have directed a flick like this one with none other than Colin Firth as the main character accompanied by the young beautiful Julianne Moore as a past friend / lover. It is truly a meaningful portal into the existence of homosexuality depicting deep love along with a painful mourning process after loss....

I LOVE Tom Ford, I LOVE Colin Firth, LOVE Nicholas Hoult and Julianne Moore, but this film....I just didn't love. It was so disappointing as it was more style over substance. Visually, it was STUNNING and this was one of Colin Firth's best performances. However, this film just dragged. It had every magical ingredient, but just needed to be told differently.
