Aside from some of the churlish material, this has to be one of Sandler’s best from his original run. He’s actually committed to a vision here, and the story actually tries to find the poignancy in its premise rather than just the humor.

Drew and Adam have amazing chemistry. The movie has some incredibly funny moments. It’s my go to when I’m looking for lighthearted fun. The more I watch it I always find something new to love. The ending is great and unexpected. Definitely a movie I can play on repeat.

It's impossible not to compare it to other Adam Sandler movies. If I see it that way, it's one of his best. It has a good premise, a captivating plot, and great chemistry between Sandler and Barrymore. There are many genuinely funny moments. Again, everything revolves around the main characters. On the other hand, I wish the subplots, like Sandler's at work, didn't exist. The jokes with his coworker and the walrus were disgusting. Adam Sandler's friend was pathetic. And honestly, I have a problem with the protagonist; I just don't buy that whole story about him not being committed. It feels forced at the beginning; they just mention it, and it makes it incoherent. If you cut a lot of things from this movie, it might have worked, although I'm no expert on amnesia. They were somewhat insensitive about it, but you can tell they were trying to portray an unconventional love. Anyway, it's worth watching so you can say, "Of course I've seen this Adam Sandler movie."
