kish b @RT00429023 Nov 17 ★★★★★ Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III – The Advent is not a movie. It is a crime scene. It is a funeral. It is the single most soul-crushing 90 minutes ever put on film. Everything the first two films built (the camaraderie, the dreams, the fragile hope) is systematically torn apart in front of your eyes with a cruelty that still feels illegal. The Eclipse is animated with nightmarish beauty: every frame drips with blood, despair, and unholy grandeur. The moment the God Hand reveals itself, when Griffith makes his choice, when the branded survivors crawl out of hell… those images are permanently burned into the retinas of anyone who has seen this film. Yet somehow, amid the absolute horror, the movie never loses sight of the human heart at its core. Guts’ scream (that raw, guttural roar of loss and rage) is one of the most devastating sounds ever recorded. Casca’s fate will leave you numb. And Griffith’s ascension is so perfectly, terrifyingly tragic that you almost understand why he did it… and then hate yourself for even thinking it. The animation reaches its peak here (the demons are grotesque masterpieces, the scale of the Eclipse is apocalyptic), Shiro Sagisu and Susumu Hirasawa deliver a soundtrack that feels like the end of the world, and the final shot of the Skull Knight riding away with what’s left of Guts and Casca is pure, perfect despair. This is the film that broke an entire generation of anime fans. It is unflinching, merciless, and absolutely necessary. You will never forget it. You will never recover from it. And you will still call it a masterpiece. 10/10. The greatest tragedy in anime history. Rest in peace, Kentaro Miura. Thank you for the pain. It powerfully portrays cosmic horror, showing a world twisted by cruel, godlike forces. What makes it stand out is the raw, unflinching journey of Guts and others—broken, tormented souls who still rise to defy the gods. Their fight isn't just for survival, but for meaning in a brutal world. With haunting visuals, deep themes, and unforgettable characters, Berserk is a gripping tale of resilience in the face of darkness. See more Joe K @RT60141654 05/15/2025 Berserk is not just a story, it's a visceral experience. Kentaro Miura’s magnum opus is a brutal, emotionally devastating, and visually haunting journey through a dark medieval world corrupted by demonic forces and human ambition. At its heart lies Guts, one of the most complex and compelling protagonists ever written. His journey from a lone mercenary to a man battling against fate itself is nothing short of legendary. The series seamlessly blends horror, high fantasy, tragedy, and philosophical introspection. Its theme, betrayal, trauma, love, loss, and the nature of evil are explored with raw intensity and rare narrative depth. What sets Berserk apart is its refusal to shy away from the darkest corners of the human soul, while still finding space for moments of tenderness, camaraderie, and hope. The art, especially in the manga, is astonishing in detail and scope. Miura’s panels are grand, grotesque, and beautiful all at once. The anime adaptations vary in quality, but the 1997 series stands out for its emotional weight and brooding atmosphere, despite its limited animation. Berserk is not for the faint of heart but for those willing to confront its unflinching darkness, it delivers one of the most unforgettable tales ever told in any medium. It's a brutal masterpiece that continues to inspire creators and devastate audiences worldwide. Rating: 10/10 See more Will S @William165 07/28/2024 Grif...fth.
