As a nurse, Coffy (Pam Grier) has seen the ill effects of drugs up close, but it isn't until her little sister becomes addicted to heroin that she finally decides to wage a one-woman battle. Disguised as a prostitute, Coffy goes on a killing rampage, at first going after street dealers and pimps such as sleazy King George (Robert DoQui), then gradually working her way up to bigger honchos. She's shocked, however, when she discovers that her politician boyfriend (Booker Bradshaw) is involved.

Pam Grier delivers one of the best performances I have seen in cinema and makes a legend out of her character of Coffy! Every performance in this performance was great and to the point! The ending is one helluva sequence packed with action and made me cheer at the end for Grier! And finally Roy Ayers’ soundtrack makes this great film a legendary one! Great songs that add to the vibe of the film! Paul Lohmann’s cinematography makes every single frame an example of the greatness of American 60s and 70s cinema!

Coffy é uma enfermeira que inicia uma vingança contra uma quadrilha de traficantes, após sua irmã ter ficado viciada e internada após o uso de drogas batizadas e de um amigo policial ter ficado entre a vida e a morte após ser espancado. Apesar de repetir o roteiro de outros filmes da blaxploitation de busca pela vingança, aqui a personagem de Pam Grier até apresenta outras camadas e dúvidas sobre os seus atos. Como o próprio filme até dedica a uma crítica ao combate às drogas em uma conversa entre Coffy e Carter. Falta ritmo ao filme, além de explorar a nudez tanto feminina quanto masculina. Acaba valendo pela Pam Grier e dos vilões realmente malvados, como Sid Haig e Allan Arbus.

First blaxploitation movie I´ve watched...It was more of a interesting foray into a genre than having real entertainment value...Cheesy dialogue, predictable plot points, nice "action" tho.

Trashy, exciting 1970's style grindhouse fun, as Pam Grier exerts her ultra violent revenge on the pushers, pimps, mobsters, corrupt cops, and politicians, who she blames for her sister's drug addiction. One of Pam's best roles - she's tough, street wise, charming, and sexy.
