Joe Logan, a mixed-blood Native American, is eager to modernize his reservation -- but first he must prove himself to his father, the tribal chairman, by rediscovering his spirit. Joe becomes the coach of the reservation's high-school lacrosse team, which must compete against the better-equipped and better-trained players of the elite Prep School League. As coach, he teaches his players the meaning of tribal pride as they climb an uphill battle to the state championship finals.

In another era, "Crooked Arrows" might have been an after-school special, perfect to have on the TV while cleaning the house; miss a scene while you're dusting under the couch, and you'll still know exactly what's happening later.

It's a warm-hearted little movie. It may have a ton of Native American cinematic clichés-dream sequences with staccato wooden flutes, soaring eagles, and so on-but it works.

This attempt at a drama is pretty routine, but it demonstrates why some clichs became clichs: because they work. [It's] basically The Bad News Bears without all of the humor, though the tone is still fairly light.

This sports drama was really good. Brandon Routh, Gil Birmingham, Crystal Allen, and the rest of the cast did an excellent job in this movie. The plot to the movie was inspirational, dramatic, and heartfelt. It's about finding your true spirit and overcoming the odds. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's worth watching.

The film is too long, lasts 1 hour and a half when it could be summarized in 30 minutes. It's so boring that it's not surprising that Brandon Routh's acting career has ended so quickly if he chose movies like this one and Superman Returns.

Synopsis
