Dr. Cyclops is the best bad picture of the year, an epic of silliness, and, more than that, a triumph of the process screen and the department of trick effects all combined very tastefully with Technicolor. Go to Full Review

Ray L @RT17291655 1d Great special effects for that time period See more Ted B. @Movieaddicted 1d 2.5 stars; This film was released prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor. The special effects and oversized set props were amazing for its time. Where this film really suffers is the sometimes silly. plot storyline, and the acting is pretty dorky. See more Ed B. @EdLee 1d Dr. Cyclops, is an older movie using high tech special effects for 1940. A mad scientist shrinks visitors who are visiting in his island. Not bad. Not great. Fun to watch the shrunken people run from cat. And run in and out of oversized household items and plants. B movie. But considering the release date it was probably spectacular. See more Robert P @robMoon74 Jan 31 The effects for 1940 isn't bad thought you can see how the story is going to progress from a mile away. It's not bad for what is.
