Spacey does a decent NIxon, but Shannon was an awful pick to play Elvis. Save your time and watch the 1997 movie "Elvis meets Nixon". Over the top performances from Rick Peters and Bob Gunton, and much funnier.

Might not get taken seriously once the direction gets figured out where it’s heading as a fabricated tall tale, and it stirs humorous amusement out of that structure through idealistically convincing though sometimes awkwardly hollow embodiments. (B)

3.5 stars; While there was a lot left to be desired, as far as physical likeness of Nixon and Elvis, much work was done on mimicking the mannerisms and voices of the characters. A good job by Kevin Spacey and. Michael Shannon. I'm not sure how much of that story is true. But it sure could be, given the personalities that were portrayed so on target. It was a comedy, but not just in the classical sense. I found myself laughing out loud, only because of the personalities involved.. Well done.
