Yes, there have been a lot of films lately to examine the fallout of social media lately, but the way it uses remakes as a foundational basis to say something about the numbing of violence via social media is pretty clever and effective here.

You sympathise with the main character. It is a great commentary on trends and vulgarity. The executions and torture was too much in real time so it was high on tension.

For a movie that is a think piece on the realism of death and how social media has led to the trend of baiting users with nostalgia/replication… Realism was replaced with movie logic in the end. But maybe that’s precisely the point?
