Wild for N @RT42520137 Nov 2 It's entertaining, romantic and funny. Cheeky parts that made me giggle lol. It's a great movie. See more Carole S @Carole140 Jul 19 I thought it was really nice to see the Civil War from another perspective. We always get the narrative from the Union side. The Union won and since many people still think that the war was about slavery instead of it really being about the southern states following the constitution and seceding as prescribed in that document, over economic reasons. The winner always gets to write history, so Lincoln's abrogating the constitution, disbanding the Supreme Court, and other unconstitutional things are never mentioned. I don't have a dog in this hunt, but I can see things from both sides, and it was good to have another side presented. Additionally, it was a really well written, well acted in an ensemble style, well produced, great production values and great depiction of the era. See more Jonathan F @RT58733241 Jun 14 The acting isn't bad, maybe even approaching good. The script is horrible: ponderous, contrived, weird. No white person in the script seems to actually like slavery. The slaves themselves were sad about the whole thing, but understanding. Kind of surprising. It comes down to a weird apologia to the VMI for being traitors to this nation for a not very good reason.
