What to Know

Critics Consensus

Despite its glossy production and some impressive set pieces, Fountain of Youth can't overcome a derivative and uninspired story that fails to capture the creativity of the countless action-adventure flicks it cribs from.

James Vanderbilt’s screenplay flashes some cheeky references (including one about a Vanderbilt) but there are no big surprises to be had here. Go to Full Review

Given all the elements involved, Fountain Of Youth should be a blast. That it isn’t is a real disappointment. Maybe best left buried. Go to Full Review

It makes you long for the treasure maps that didn't cross the continents but the peaks, ridges and valleys of the human soul. Go to Full Review

Mission: physiologically impossible, more like. And it’s exactly the kind of preposterous showboating silliness that has made the Mission: Impossible films such fun over the years. Go to Full Review

This brings n amalgamation of previous ideas from other likeminded films together, stripss it of finesse, and homogenizes it into a film you’ll be wondering if you saw it already, even though it just came out. Go to Full Review

James M @James946 14h To be fair this is a review of the first ten minutes. They made a chase scene with gunfire dull. They also did a terrible job cutting between Krasinski's lumbering run and the athletic moves of stuntmen. The difference in body language was so dramatic that it was impossible to view this as one guy running. Finally the dumb dialogue between Krasinsky and the Asian woman trying to take his tube carrier made me cringe. I have to hand it to the actors, they delivered these awful lines with as much credibility as anyone could muster, but it's just not enough to hold this sh*t show together. And that's the first ten minutes. I couldn't continue any longer. See more DW R @RT58241869 2d Strong opening sequence but movie goes downhill quickly from there. See more Jeffrey P @vanillavoodoo1 5d The opening credits were the best part, overpowering action for an adventure with no clear guide. See more Spencer D @ProfessorMoriarty Mar 17 Well that was quite bad. They certainly tried hard to recreate National Treasure. Quippy "I'm better and smarter than you" script included. But so poorly written, executed and acted. Cliche after cliche after cliche. See more matt dukes J @RT60324868 Mar 11 I'm seeing people being very critical, but for me, and I'm a movie fan with a blog ( fleshapoidfilms.wordpress.com ), I enjoyed this film. Ritchie is good at chases and action and it moves fast and has fun characters and humor. A fast fun breezy amusing ride. Entertaining. See more Frank E. @RT90922318 Mar 11 Snooze fest and boring. Just a lot of plotholes and not inspiring. See more Read all reviews
