The damaged denizens of Sin City return for another round of stories from the mind of Frank Miller. To call Sin City noir is to misunderstand the genre, as perhaps Miller does. Each story ends pretty simply-in brutal fighting and murder-and lacks genuine intrigue or ambiguity.

I finally got around to watching Sin City: A Dame To Kill For for the first time after rewatching the first Sin City. Unfortunately for me this was definitely a step down from the first film. Yes it had the same beautiful cinematography and some of the same cast but that’s were the similarities end with the sequel. The story is no where as engaging and even the acting from the better cast felt phoned in. Ultimately this isn’t a must watch as its predecessor.

A continuação mantém o estilo do primeiro filme, com sexo, drogas e violência estilizada, mas as tramas não têm a mesma força — especialmente a última, centrada na vingança de Nancy, prejudicada pela limitação de Jessica Alba nesse tipo de papel. O restante do elenco se destaca: Marv é possivelmente o segundo melhor trabalho de Mickey Rourke, e Eva Green, Rosario Dawson, Powers Boothe, Josh Brolin e Joseph Gordon-Levitt também brilham.
