In April 1945, the Allies are making their final push in the European theater. A battle-hardened Army sergeant named Don "Wardaddy" Collier, leading a Sherman tank and a five-man crew, undertakes a deadly mission behind enemy lines. What to Know

Critics Consensus

Overall, Fury is a well-acted, suitably raw depiction of the horrors of war that offers visceral battle scenes but doesn't quite live up to its larger ambitions.

The scenes that attempt to humanize the protagonists, while also portraying the darker side of war, are too contrived. But the raw battle scenes are riveting...but you cannot ignore the script's moral high ground. Go to Full Review

An impressively solid World War II movie of the kind they don't make anymore. Go to Full Review

While these orgies of violence are staged with tense, gruesome precision, they don't convey much beyond what we already know. Namely, that war is hell. Message received. Go to Full Review

Ayer wants you to empathize with the psychological damage war causes those thrust into it but doesn’t let that veer him away from letting you know that none of these characters—apart from Norman to an extent—are likable or remotely good people. Go to Full Review

Its blood-and-gore approach seems less in service of historical realism and more a means of delivering the kind of masochistic machismo in which Ayer has a tendency to deal Go to Full Review

Ty J. @RT78715764 17h As far as my rating for fury, I loved that movie. Another very rare time I was speechless after completing media, O grew to love the characters so much and then the ending was unbelievable and I couldn’t think or say anything about it, easy 10/10 for me See more Keith B. @Okbullard 3d I thought it was really engaging with great acting and some very intense scenes. The ending was pretty improbable so I deleted a star. It's still worth the watch. See more Ibrick T @Ibrick 3d One of the grittier, dirtier wat movies. Great cast. Some real nightmare scenes. See more Paul E @pauleveritt 4d FINALLY sat down and watched this movie on May 20, 2026 on Tubi for free. I had seen lots of criticism about the tank battle. {SOILER ALTER} Save yourself some time. When the SS battalion arrives at the disabled tank, TURN THE MOVIE OFF! It just gets STUPID at this point and has the typical Hollywood ending with the good guys fighting the bad guys to the bitter end and the new kid survives. The Sargent (Brad Pitt) takes THREE hits from a sniper's rifle and is still in pretty good shape considering one round hit him square in the left lung. It even has the extended dying speech before he is finally killed by two German grenades but not until he kills ONE more German. It is almost like they had two screen writers. The movie starts off very strong and then it looks like they did not know how to finish it so they just hurried it up with the extended last battle scene. It would have been anti-climatic if they had just had the war end and then all they did was to guard POWs. See more Chris B @Papa13070 May 14 Fury is a solid World War II drama with strong performances and a few memorable moments. The film opens with striking imagery and sets up themes about innocence, brutality, and the cost of survival. There are excellent sequences, especially the tank to tank battle, and the atmosphere is convincing. It is worth watching for the performances and the gritty tone. Brad Pitt is awesome as Wardaddy. See more Pedro Henrique C @Pedro2005 May 11 Fury (2014) It's an excellent war film. The team behind it does an excellent job delivering action, suspense, and emotion. The star-studded cast perfectly fulfills their roles right up to the final minutes. See more Read all reviews
