A hunter returns home to North Carolina with a mysterious green case. Following the death of his mother, he moves back into the family home where his mind begins to disintegrate. Stalked by divine voices and unholy visions, guided by disquiet, his mother's hand written riddles and strange visitors further complicate an already splintering mind. A cable man, a mummified cat, zealous neighbors, and a killer swirl through this darkly comic southern gumbo.

If Beasts of the Southern Wild had a cinematic child with Alex Garland's Civil War, I'd like to think that child would look something like the unique and extraordinary Gunfighter Paradise. Go to Full Review

R T @RT58409670 Mar 17 Gunfighter Paradise is a unique, thought-provoking film with strong acting and a surreal story. Its dark humor and artistic style make it memorable, leaving you thinking long after it ends. Highly recommended. See more Hany B @RT76197272 Mar 17 Gunfighter Paradise is not a typical thriller. It pulls you into a fractured mind and keeps you there. The story is loose but intentional. You follow a man unraveling, and the film never hands you clear answers. That tension drives everything. The visuals stand out. Each shot feels placed with purpose. The sound and music push the emotion without overdoing it. There is dark humor throughout. It cuts the heaviness and keeps you engaged. This film demands attention. You either lean in or you miss it. Simple takeaway. Smart, strange, and worth your time. Great work Jethro! See more Yemi B @RT4RT Mar 17 A sharp, thought‑provoking thriller, Gunfighter Paradise delivers exactly what it promises. The film blends clean, confident storytelling with striking cinematography, each frame crafted with intention. Its mix of tension, humor, and visual elegance makes it an easy, engaging watch. Jethro Waters’ direction shines—assured, stylish, and memorable. See more h L @RT01457791 Mar 11 Thought provoking, funny and visually striking. A treat to watch, brought to life by the multi-talented Jetro Waters. See more Maureen T @Maureen711 Mar 8 An incredible movie and one not to miss! Truly remarkable talent in Director, Jethro Waters. See more Mulugeta S @semework Mar 2 Gunfighter Paradise (2024) feels like an AI agent orchestrating thriller, Southern drama, and political and cultural dilemmas—though AI cannot do this (I work on it). Set in rural South Carolina, it follows a man grieving his mother whose isolation exposes what we are capable of and how circumstance shapes us. This is my first attempt at writing about a movie, and I’m likely not impartial. As a neuroscientist, I felt how it makes you form opinions, erase them, smile, grimace, think, forget to think—sadness and wonder out of order. I could box it into genres, but that would be unfair. The cinematography feels lived-in; the music alone carries the story. It says so much without speaking aloud, bringing contemporary knots to the surface without blaming or binarizing. It shows humans as they are and leaves you to decide. If you think AI will take over, or that our problems are caused by people unlike us, watch this film. I wish I could write and produce so well.
