When flight attendant Jackie Brown (Pam Grier) is busted smuggling money for her arms dealer boss, Ordell Robbie (Samuel L. Jackson), agent Ray Nicolette (Michael Keaton) and detective Mark Dargus (Michael Bowen) want her help to bring down Robbie. Facing jail time for her silence or death for her cooperation, Brown decides instead to double-cross both parties and make off with the smuggled money. Meanwhile, she enlists the help of bondsman Max Cherry (Robert Forster), a man who loves her.

Maybe posterity will crown Jackie Brown as his best film and maybe not. Either way it shows that mainstream plotting and noir romance are yet more movie styles that Tarantino can fabricate: brilliantly.

The intricacies are enough that it’s largely impossible to follow along with knowledge of how it might all fall apart (hence all the flashbacks), sapping a bit of the suspense and creativity.

A more reflective film, with deeper characterizations coming from an older cast willing to sit with a moment. It’s also incredibly entertaining, funny, well-crafted, and detailed, making any revisit worthwhile.

It sort of literally is the way you randomly remember all the lyrics of a song you heard growing up. Just, a memory, that the film director's having. There's a lot of swearing and it is quite long. AND. dare I say, a confused identity. I just mean, copying someone you think of as being cool, but it not really working when you do it.

This film represents the best of Pam Grier, Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Forester’s entire film careers! If you never knew how the other side lives, you’ll know after viewing this film. Great story line and contributions from Bridget Fonda and Michael Keaton. Don’t go another day without seeing this film lest you contend to live your life out in naïveté’? 👍🏻👏🏻

Wow what a film. It’s 1000% not what i was expecting at all for a Quentin Tarantino movie. But in his true fashion he delivered a masterpiece. Slow burner, great story, and just all around a a great one. RIP Chris Tucker

Jackie Brown is probabaly the least hectic of Tarantino's films. Although the pace is quite slow it is still engaging throughout. As always with his movies I enjoyed the dialogue. Also, having not seen it until now it was a nice snapshot of the mid-90s.

Synopsis
