In 1979 young Donna, Tanya and Rosie graduate from Oxford University -- leaving Donna free to embark on a series of adventures throughout Europe. On her journeys, she makes the acquaintances of Harry, Bill and Sam -- the latter whom she falls in love with, but he's also the man who breaks her heart. Wow, I didn’t like it. It doesn’t even hold a candle to the first movie, which was phenomenal. How can you go from the masterpiece to this? It just feels like all of the magic got sucked out of this movie. Does not make sense to me. It’s so obvious that they tried to recreate the success that the previous movie had, but they failed miserably in my opinion. Even Cher couldn’t save the movie. I make it sound like it was bad bad but really it was okay… Just uninspiring, performative, unnecessary and "fake". My favorite part of this movie was Meryl singing with Amanda towards the end. I will rewatch the first movie but this one has no replay value at all.

It's 90% a prequel, they killed off Meryl Streep and brought her back as a ghost at the last minute, the addition of Cher felt forced and the acting is horrible. Please do not make a Mama Mia 3, Universal.
