The main character (Thomas Jane) is a world weary everyman that strives to hold on to his humanity in the very worst of times. The story revolves around a suicide mission undertaken by a small group of volunteers striving to save mankind. The action is non stop and gory. The ending is powerful and reaffirming. If you want Shakespeare or Ibsen skip this movie. If you want to watch an action movie filled to the brim with violent close quaters combat scenes held together by an uplifting and purpose driven narrative I strongly recommend giving it a view. Turns out, after seeing it on streaming on a television, it's supposed to look like that. So much c.g.i., green screen, and color distortion.... it hurts to look at. The story and idea will not stop being intriguing but it's a lot to visually digest and process, probably too much for most people.
