Everyone in the Portokalos family worries about Toula (Nia Vardalos). Still unmarried at 30 years old, she works at Dancing Zorba's, the Greek restaurant owned by her parents, Gus (Michael Constantine) and Maria (Lainie Kazan). After taking a job at her aunt's travel agency, she falls in love with Ian Miller (John Corbett), a teacher who is tall, handsome and definitely not Greek. Toula isn't sure which will be more upsetting to her father, that Ian is a foreigner or that he's a vegetarian.

The result feels a little over-egged at times and the love match lacks chemistry, but Ian's whistlestop induction into a different style of language, food, drink, dress and dancing allows a few good one-liners.

It isn’t holding up as well on repeated viewings. It still has plenty of charm, but this time it felt less magical and more like a 1990s TV sitcom. The print looked great, and the bouzouki music added a nice Greek flavor.

Yeah, it may be cheesy and predictable but WHO CARES!?!?!?! Sometimes we need a movie like this once in a while. The story is so cute and I love all the characters! Toula Portukalos it’s such a relatable character. You can empathize with her feeling like she was different from others because she comes from a Greek family background. Personally, I’m not Greek I’m half French, but I still found her very relatable nonetheless. Alexander Janko’s score in this is pretty good too in my opinion. So,…yeah. If you want a nice romance movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously then I would say go watch it!

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom
