As good as most recent post-Katzenberg Disney films, and certainly -- with its stylised characterisation and bursts of witty dialogue -- a great deal better than the Mouse's turgid mega-budget epic Dinosaur. Go to Full Review

The Road to El Dorado is one of DreamWorks' essential gems: a fast-paced adventure as fun as it was 23 years ago. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Though containing all of the elements you would imagine might make a rip-roaring, animated comedy adventure, The Road to El Dorado doesn't fit that bill. Go to Full Review

Cenny 4 @KenTan 2d A surprisingly action-packed adventure! There were many things I liked about this show. First, the characters are interesting. I liked Miguel and tulio’s unique and contrasting characterization; Miguel being the more logical one but not infallible to impulses, and Tulio being the more emphathetic and open minded one but prone to be too buried in his heart. Chel was pretty charismatic and I liked her performance as well. The chief was really likeable too and i liked that scene where Tulio wondered if the chief thinks him not a god. Oh and the animals. They have impeccable comedic timing as well with their expressive faces and body language too haha. Second, the dangers the characters faced was felt as well. Many times I wondered if they could even surmount the obstacles placed in front of them, but they successfully bypassed all of it. This does takes away some of the tension tho. Third, the music is impressive. I loved the songs and orchestra music! Love this See more Storm H @StormyWeather4U 2d How this movie sits at a "Rotten" critical score is the real eighth wonder of the world. The Road to El Dorado is an absolute masterpiece of animation, and honestly, it’s missing nothing. . The hand-drawn animation is gorgeous, vibrant, and bursting with life, a stunning reminder of how beautiful traditional animation can be. But the real heart of the film is the legendary dynamic between Miguel and Tulio. Brought to life by the incredibly talented Kevin Kline and Kenneth Branagh, their chemistry and lightning-fast banter make this one of the funniest, most quotable animated films ever made. And don't even get me started on the soundtrack, Elton John and Tim Rice delivered an absolute masterclass of music that elevates every single scene. It’s fun, it’s hilarious, it’s visually stunning, and it has aged like fine wine. Don't listen to the critics on this one. It's a gold standard of animation that deserves a 100% in the hearts of true movie lovers. The voice actors is decent and quite good. The soundtracks by Elton John is a banging rewind. And the plot is both confusing and really good at the same time. See more Ciaran S @TrainMultifan26 Apr 28 To be honest i never expected DreamWorks to make a movie this amazing since "The Prince Of Egypt" 2 years prior although i do understand why it flop at the box-office. The Road To Eldorado is actually a great animated film with a fantastic story, great writing, fantastic animation memorable characters on top of some great songs written by Elton John & Tim Rice and a great score composed by Hans Zimmer & John Powell not to mention this was inspired by the Road to... film series but it's also proof that the success of 2d animation was coming to an end when the 2000s came along, and i will say I'm not say you should go watch this movie now but if you are a DreamWorks fan you'll probably have a good time with this as much as i do.
