Sinners is a redemption movie, a revenge movie with elements of Blaxploitation, and certainly a red-blood-soaked horror movie; it’s also deeply romantic and has the rhythms and audaciousness of some of our boldest musicals.

This was my sixth time watching it (4th time in theaters), and it just keeps getting better. This film deserved all 16 of its Oscar nominations and then some. Impeccable cast and performances, beautiful score and soundtrack, coupled with stunning cinematography make it really easy for me to place this movie in my personal favorites.
