I tried to watch but could not find anything of interest. These inane kids are running around trying to scam a buck, take drugs and get out of poverty. There is no story here that has not been told many, many times before. And there was no humor or compelling character to make me want to watch after the first 20 minutes. It's just sad lives headed for tragedy.

Well shot, but writing and character development was pretty awful. I actually laughed at times at the silly lines that I assume were meant to be serious. Like when Mom tells son that she is going to hold on to his brick of cocaine until he gets his life together. I did not care at all about Riz or any of the characters. They all lacked depth or layers. I think they were going for a gritty film noir, but ended up with a far more comical and sophmoric version of the genre.

This film is a bold and original debut feature. It presents a fresh take on the motel noir by showing it through a female, immigrant-centric lens. It has a powerful message but doesn't feel too heavy-handed - instead it takes you for a fun, increasingly intense ride. Great acting and strong direction throughout.
