Meddy S @RT51609981 4d A really good movie that shows you the importance of having friends and people you can count on. I can watch it as many times as I want without getting tired. See more Blake- N @PBSAniDom 5d The Bad Guys: Haunted Heist is a pretty solid Halloween special that fits nicely into the overall franchise. Being available on Netflix makes it an easy watch, especially for fans who already enjoy the characters and their chaotic energy. The special keeps the same fun, fast-paced style as the main series, with a light spooky twist that suits the Halloween theme without going too dark or intense. It feels made for entertainment rather than anything too serious, which works in its favor. The animation and humor stay consistent with what you expect from The Bad Guys universe. It’s not trying to reinvent anything, but it delivers a simple, enjoyable story with familiar personalities doing what they do best. Overall, I would rate The Bad Guys: Haunted Heist 6/10. It is a decent seasonal special—fun, easy to watch, and a good addition for fans, even if it doesn’t stand out as one of the stronger entries. See more John K @WQCMI Sep 17 Not again! This film has the same problems as Very Bad Holiday: 1. Terrible animation. 2. Awful acting. 3. Another Netflix special that was not necessary. 4. The twists was obvious. 5. The story feels like a spec script that DreamWorks forced Bad Guys into. The story could've worked better for Scooby-Doo! rather than Bad Guys. Thankfully, Bad Guys 2 came in and saved the franchise. See more BRizz 2 @TheMovieSearch Aug 14 The Bad Guys – Netflix Specials (Haunted Heist & A Very Bad Holiday) I’m combining these two into one review because they’re only 24 minutes each and there’s not enough in either to justify a full deep dive. That being said, the writing is solid and fits right in with The Bad Guys franchise’s ongoing story direction. The holiday special (A Very Bad Holiday) actually contains a Santa Claus scene that’s referenced in the second theatrical film. I didn’t fully get the joke until I saw the movie today—now it clicks perfectly. It’s a nice little connection for fans paying attention. For kids, both specials are still fun and entertaining, but they’re missing that final spark that makes the movies so great: the original voice cast. No matter how hard you try to ignore it, it’s obvious different actors are voicing the characters here. They just don’t bring the same energy, charm, and comedic timing that the theatrical cast nailed. That change shifts the tone, too. The Bad Guys movies feel like clever adult comedy wrapped in kid-friendly fun—something both kids and parents can enjoy together. These specials lean much more childish, almost like something you’d put on in the background for a toddler, rather than something the whole family would be hooked on. Still, they’re enjoyable little additions to the franchise and will keep younger fans entertained. I just wish they had brought back the original cast to make them truly shine.
