The boomer afflictions that create the situations in “The Best You Can” -- physical, mental, financial, attitudinal -- are handled gently, though with enough weight to provide a foundation for the charm brought by Ms. Sedgwick and Mr. Bacon.

I started to watch it expecting another Rom/Com wth two of my favorite actors. I was so pleasantly surprised by the script that is so engaging and smart and funny! It shows us that you can still find a movie that explores the life of a father’s love for his child while struggling through his own. Though sometimes she misunderstands his love and intentions he just wants her to have everything his own life never achieved. Kyra’s character is dealing with her much older husband who is starting to get dementia. Even though his life was overflowing with achievements and milestones he still had a great life. Kevin and Kyra are truly amazing and lovely to watch. It’s very real with life’s tragedy and beauty but overall it’s just an incredible experience.

I'm sick of Fake Reviews! There was no reason to make this movie. It wasn't funny and it wasn't interesting. There were numerous, irrelevant side-stories that added nothing to the movie except screen-time. I kinda-chuckle once, but the rest of the time, I sat waiting for any word, sentence, or scene that was remotely funny. Never happened. Perfectly flat and boring movie.

I enjoyed this movie so much! It’s funny, moving, engaging, has great music, and most importantly — it’s so well written and acted. Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon bring such chemistry and intelligence to their indie film. They are clearly having fun. I’m so glad they made it and that I saw it.

Hmm. Anyone who doesn't like this film must have a stick up his or her ass. (crude and uncalled for, I know, but echoing the rhetoric of the haters out there). No, seriously, I laughed out loud (while on an airplane) many times, and just enjoyed it from start to finish. A little cringy (adult themes), I'll give you that. But otherwise it was a perfect movie. The banter was delightful and unpredictable, the pacing gorgeous, the ending sweet but not saccharine. If you enjoy a RomCom that won't put you to sleep, The Best You Can Get is the film for you!
