But—I loved the arts, fashion, and the girliness. ​I didn't like her boyfriend and that Thompson guy.(yuck) They made her feel bad and bullied, implied it wasn't her when she wore those dresses, and implied her job. She was finding out herself, but she took the job because it would benefit her journalist career. ​I felt bad for her a little throughout. Only a little. ​I love fashion and arts. This movie was iconic. So was Miranda. The end was her pursuing her own career, yet she and Miranda acknowledging each other. It was classique! ​An 8/10 (only because I was perplexed about Andy). DON'T GET ME STARTED. She agreed with her boyfriend in the end, which was kinda off because her pursuing her career was to show her and Miranda being parallels AND contrasting. Although, it came out as off I'd say. This also taught us alot about fashion industry. You have to be selfish to get to the top. Iconic! Frustrating at times as it was so clear Andrea and Nate should be together but the storyline makes it seem that her job had changed her too much and that she will choose Christian instead. However, her character prevails and returns to her original self. Not forgetting all the lessons she learned along the way. I think the true romance here isn’t between Andrea and her potential partner but instead the platonic relationship between Andrea and Miranda. Where Andrea re-opens a kindness / love in Miranda heart, which had previously been closed. Shown in her smile at the very end of the movie. See more Aye E @RT43717499 Feb 16 I always found this a perfectly fine movie, with appealing performances from everyone and of course Meryl Streep beyond perfect. On rewatch of course the fashion doesn't all stand the test of time, but the point still comes across. But the thing that ages the worst is Andy's relationship. That boyfriend is immature and unsupportive and her friends are jerks. As if there isn't anyone that has to compromise something for their job, especially when it sounds like she took the job because she couldn't find one in her field. As hard as it was, they only made it harder. Only the one guy friend shows an interest in her job and doesn't hold it against her. See more Read all reviews
