Jay W @RT52162311 2d Are you familiar with Wes Anderson? He's the type of writer/ director that has such a distinct and unorthodox style that his films are instantly recognizable as a Wes Anderson film. His style isn't for everyone, but what I admire about him is that he doesn't seem to care. It doesn't matter if everyone likes it, as long as he likes it. Anderson has a very dry sense of humor. The characters never wink at the camera or act like anything funny or unusual is going on, and their understated matter of fact way of communicating is part of the joke. For me, the funniest things come from asking the question, "why?" Why tell this story through 4 layers of narration? Why have a child interrupt the story with a toy gun? Why animate a man dancing in the end credits? To think of all the effort to set up these things when they don't affect the story, that is the funniest part. What the story is, isn't as important as how it is being told. How do I describe this movie? It is very Wes Anderson. It was written so well and felt very logical but also empathetic. I really liked it! See more VITALII H @freakynickison May 3 Visually and cinematically it was a masterpiece. The colors, sets and style, everything was so vibrant and beautiful, very appealing. The cast was also incredible although in my opinion would’ve been better to have one more female lead. Saoirse and Tilda were amazing but one more female lead was missing in my opinion. I can so easily imagine Kate Winslet or Helena Bonham Carter in this. Overall, the movie is very entertaining and takes you on a journey. There are so many details that are so well thought through and added so much to the story and experience. From the perspective of color and light I wish ppl would make more movies like this because it was so much fun and it was so stunning.
