Weak characters, a thin plot, and a few funny moments lead to a bland but inoffensive film. As far as action comedies go, we've seen far better, and we've seen far worse. "The Hitman's Bodyguard" finds itself somewhere in the unremarkable middle.

Don’t listen to the top critics. Sure it’s not a work of genius or even that tightly executed, but the Hitman's Bodyguard is a fun, enjoyably daft action film I’d happily watch again if I saw it lined up on TV or Netflix. Just fast-paced enough to prevent you thinking too much about certain plot flaws. Almost all the magic is between Reynolds and Jackson but there are some real golden moments outside their bromance that, I would say, trumps most in Baby Driver for comedy and enjoyability. Although I’d still rank Baby Driver higher in originality, I’d probably rather watch the Hitman's Bodyguard on a spare night in.

It is what it is, if you’re a fan of Sam Jackson snd Ryan Reynolds, this movie will not disappoint. The beautiful Selma and veteran Oldman, what’s not to like? Take it light and enjoy the comedy, there’s even a few new ways to unalive the bad guys 😎
