Alain E @AlainE May 16 "Sympathy for the devil ". Visually the movie is excellent with many scenes reminiscent of Giorgio Morandi paintings, although of course he never depicted any figures. Apparently some viewers have a dose of concern about the monster who was stressed, because at work he had to kill thousands of Jews and other prisoners every day. However he persevered for over three years. Hoess says in the film that he didn’t understand why Himmler made him director of the camp in Auschwitz despite lacking adequate seniority. Obviously the Reichsfuehrer could see that he had the necessary cruelty in abundance . Not many people in the film are unaffected by the situation. The interrogator has some type of sexual relationship possibly with a prostitute. There is a strange scene where they stand facing each other, the woman is completely naked, the man has his suit and tie and he manually brings her to orgasm. At the end, after Hoess was dispatched to the next world, the interrogator returns home. On Tubi See more 03/01/2021 This is a very difficult movie to watch. I never thought I'd feel sympathy for any SS officer but this tore at me. I keep thinking about the saying that there is 3 sides to every story....yours, theirs and the truth which is somewhere in between. If you are a WWII historical fan, this movie is a definite must see. The cinematography is powerful and haunting at the same time.
