It reminds me of the kind of film that was made in the past that were more character driven rather than based on AI generated action. That's also the first lesson in class of Hugh Grant as a failing screenwriter turned college professor. He's found a teaching gig much more out of necessity than love of teaching. The supporting cast is excellent and while the film isn't deeply thoughtful or packed with stunning cinematography, blockbuster action or an unforgettable musical score, the appealing cast and characters make it enjoyable entertainment. It was watchable, partly because of the excellent cast and partly because .. I dunno .. the location? Maybe it reminded me of better films .. so I didn't totally hate it.
