Don’t be put off by its structural and narrative shortcomings. This is still a very watchable, gripping and sometimes moving portrait of men at war, and likely the most realistic ever depiction of a second world war tank crew.

'Der Tiger' trades battlefield spectacle for moral decay and existential dread. Claustrophobic and technically impressive, it raises sharp questions about guilt and obedience, but struggles to turn its heavy ideas into compelling drama.

I agree with the others here. It's gruelling to watch because it's slow and intense. It transcends 'us and them'. Very human and incredibly brave soldiers. It was good to see these men actually cry when one of them gets killed. Grown men can cry. I had to watch in parts. Very well made in my opinion.

An unexpectedly great movie. Perhaps the best war-related piece I watched in the past decade. It is about humanity rather than a tank. Many have been disappointed by the ending, I was not: this ending was been hinted on during the whole movie, and you come to realize that it is the only possible one, for this movie as well as for many other stories ...

Das Boot meets Apocalypse Now. A tank crew was sent out to recover a higher military commander. During their journey they encouter several obstacles. Once they sit in their tank under water and listen for the motors of hostile tanks (Das Boot scene after the battle). At the end they meet the commander who built a little camp with prostitutes and alcohol (the cheap version of Marlon Brandos terror village in Apocalypse Now). The quality is quite entertaining but the too predictable story and expectable details which were derived from other great movies make it a bit boring. Those ancestor movies, Das Boot und Apocalypse Now, still meet todays expectations and do not need to be re-done. But if you are into the topic, this movie is nice to watch, but don't expect too much.

Too few films like this exists today. I thoroughly enjoyed it and think there needs to be a lot more movies from the German tanker's perspective. Many times these men achieved near superhuman feats. Bravo!

A great war drama reminding us of how in war, there is no plot armor. The ending had my mouth dropping and reminded us of the reality of war. Even the toughest, most driven, most competent warriors can be caught up and make mistakes in a moment.
