Blake- N @PBSAniDom May 17 The Wrong Missy is a very "mid" entry among comedy films connected to Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison-style productions. It carries that familiar chaotic, over-the-top energy, but it doesn’t fully come together in a consistent or memorable way. The humor is very hit-or-miss throughout. There are a few genuinely funny and absurd moments that work well, but quite a bit of it leans too heavily on cringe comedy and predictable setups. The cast puts in effort, but the material is uneven, which affects the overall impact. Overall, it’s an easy, turn-your-brain-off kind of watch if you’re in the mood for silly comedy, but it doesn’t leave much of a lasting impression. It sits right in the middle—neither terrible nor particularly good. I rate it a 5/10. Lauren Lapkus fully commits to the chaos, but her performance is dialed up so high that it becomes overwhelming rather than entertaining. Overall, The Wrong Missy is a loud, ridiculous comedy that misses the mark, relying on forced humor and exaggerated performances instead of genuine laughs or engaging storytelling.
