He doesn't know it, but everything in Truman Burbank's (Jim Carrey) life is part of a massive TV set. Executive producer Christof (Ed Harris) orchestrates "The Truman Show," a live broadcast of Truman's every move captured by hidden cameras. Christof tries to control Truman's mind, even removing his true love, Sylvia (Natascha McElhone), from the show and replacing her with Meryl (Laura Linney). As Truman gradually discovers the truth, however, he must decide whether to act on it.

Thinking about The Truman Show in 2023, it’s clear the film—marvellously written by Andrew Niccol—was ahead of its time in some respects and doomed to be quickly dated in others.

This movie is so bad, do not waste your time. The pacing is atrocious, like one second he is living his life in an imaginary world next he is being waterboarded by the director. This is ridiculous, the acting is so bad even though it's a show in a show its unrealistic and unbelievable, which the whole point is to mimic the control of the real world and the fight for freedom, which all actors do not show. Would give 0 stars if I could, only good character was Meryl who just left and we heard nothing from after. Do not waste your time watching this go watch something that will actually be worth your time and will leave you satisfied, not this seeping hot pile of garbage.

The film has not only amazing actors (Jim Carry, Laura Linney) it has good cinematic views and the way the they organise the production of the truman show.

the Truman show is a really good movie. personally not my favourite genre of movies and an older movie. however, it has a really good message and is worth watching it even just once for the experience

I would recommend this movie. It has great integration surrounding themes of deception, social media. it is a very good film and I feel very engaged. Great for anyone to watch! it would be good if you could see what happened after Truman entered the exit door
