Bubble M @RT36227790 7h Marginally better than season one though once again Shankar’s take on Devil May Cry proves that bar is indeed in hell . The animation is slight improvement, the soundtrack is decent and while the villain taken from dmc2 Arius is once again rehashed with a similar backstory to last season’s White Rabbit. If you’re coming into season two expecting improved writing from what on earth season one was then be prepared once more to be spoonfed superficial messaging ( bear in mind the whole ‘point’ of the Makai from season one gets toned down) while the plot rushes from a to b to try and get through and offers an attempted distraction from writing flaws and continuity errors through key jangling references. Vergil of course is the main centre of this season and while this AU offers an interesting take on his backstory compared to main game lore, there does become a central challenge on how much an adaptation can understand a character or themes beyond the surface. Season 1 was almost ruined for me by making a huge amount of the focus on lady who had an absolutely obnoxious precense. Season 2 toned that down to acceptable amounts with the primary focus being Dante and Virgil. Some of the best music and remixes ive heard in any anime and the animation is just beautiful. The final episode will give you chills after seeing their last interaction. The dialog followed by the music there is near perfect execution. VERY excited for Season 3. The story does not flow, dialogs are weird and not sensible, has the worst romance and couple that you can see in a show and audience is forced to like it. The music is a problem and I'm saying that as a person who absolutely loves music like Evanscence and Linkin Park. The music wasn't tied into the actual actions being carried out. It is like they choose the music on a wim and just slapped it in, it just felt out of place. Lady wasn't as infuriating this time around.
