See more Yash B @yashbansal Mar 19 "Steel Magnolias" has never been a movie I have been particularly drawn to watching, as I felt it may not really be for my demographic. However, after watching it, I can say this movie really is for everyone. It is a heartfelt and funny story about friendship. The story starts out light, and there are countless zingers and comments that made me laugh. I do feel it completely shifts tonally int he second half but ultimately packs an emotional punch. Overall, it is most definitely a melodramatic film with a lot of cheesy elements, but it is so effortlessly likable and sincere, I am doubtful most will be able to resist its charms.
