The show excels at casting a spell through odd details, nasty red herrings, disturbing clues. And underlying them all is an unexpectedly sincere exploration of what true love can or should feel like. Go to Full Review

Something Very Bad Is About to Happen plays on nagging relationship fears that haunt you late at night about the resting body sleeping beside you, forcing us to consider whether that person we’re committing ourselves to really is the “one.” Go to Full Review

There’s a lot going on, including a spinning of wheels. It may not be “very bad,” I hasten to add, but the “something very bad” in “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” is the pumping of 10 gallons of horror into a 5-gallon vehicle. Go to Full Review

It takes the seriousness of a lifelong commitment and packages it inside a dread-soaked thriller to reshape the weight of such a decision. Go to Full Review

It may not be the perfect execution, but it’s intriguing enough to keep you watching until the bloody end. Rachel knew something was off… and maybe that’s the real lesson: always listen to your gut. Go to Full Review

Women suffocating under the weight of a system meant to subdue them always makes for a fun horror theme, and this series doesn't shy away from showing the facets of marriage, warts and all. Go to Full Review

Mpho M @RT52290997 2h The series has an intense atmosphere, testing the faith and trust of all the characters. It's a battle between love and death and it is produced in the most outstanding way possible and I think it is a perfect series worth seeing. And lastly the acting is just so beautiful everyone deserves a round of applause for the acting. What a great show See more nur fatin syahirah K @RT01846785 3h The plot was good but in my opinion. Rachel just full of herself she should just die in the plane crash. See more Danielle M @RT14355982 8h I was hooked in the first 15 minutes. I have not seen a show of this caliber in a long time. Think black mirror meets stranger things. See more Rene R @RT58099448 10h Great Show!! Although I was a lil disappointed cause it started as a fantastic Horror show and then kinda turned into more of a….well..not Horror show 🤣 Still a great watch!! See more Brad G @Wired2wall 11h Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen has a relatable core idea — the anxiety and uncertainty that come with getting married — but it undercuts that by wrapping it in a supernatural curse that doesn’t really hold up logically. The soulmate concept feels outdated and old-fashioned for a modern audience, and the specific rules of the curse, like the wedding-day sundown deadline and the immortality loophole, make the mythology feel arbitrary rather than genuinely unsettling. On top of that, the show stretches a thin premise across too many episodes, relying too heavily on eerie tone and mysterious behavior instead of a more compelling payoff. The acting is fine, but the premise and execution aren’t strong enough to sustain the series, especially once the central mystery is revealed. In the end it becomes a film built more around atmosphere than a story trying to keep you engaged. See more Belle Shanti M @RT87116120 11h *SPOILERS* I wanted to like Something Really Bad Is Going to Happen. Within 10 minutes, the Duffer fingerprints were everywhere—nostalgia, cynical-but-soft characters, up-close gore, and that anxious, lingering dread. Was this really Hayley Z. Boston’s vision, or just polished branding? I checked out when the symbolism and scares felt random instead of earned. The storytelling was incoherent with abandoned ideas causing confusion instead of dread. The baby in the car? The box scene? The Witness in that bar driving a beat-up truck? None of it grounded the story. The editing felt sloppy, plot threads barely stapled, with commentary so blunt it bruised. Even the dad cameo went nowhere. Death couldn’t decide what it was, a ghoulish presence or rabid clown dog? The camp of the wedding came off as screwball comedy. Bright spots: Every actor brought their A-game (even "Benjamin"). Both the costume design and the cinematography were superb. 2.5 stars—gorgeous to watch, frustrating to follow. See more Read all reviews
