Nick Morton is a soldier of fortune who plunders ancient sites for timeless artifacts and sells them to the highest bidder. When Nick and his partner come under attack in the Middle East, the ensuing battle accidentally unearths Ahmanet, a betrayed Egyptian princess who was entombed under the desert for thousands of years. With her powers constantly evolving, Morton must now stop the resurrected monster as she embarks on a furious rampage through the streets of London.

When people talk about how the Marvel shared universe formula has ruined the film industry, this is what they mean. The most tonally confused movie I’ve ever seen as it tries to do creature horror, big action, & charming comedy all at once. I’m a massive Cruise fan, but he is not the man for this job with his forced quirky, reckless attitude. The studio tries to do something new with this classic monster but also tries to capture the spirit of its predecessors & fails at both. Genuinely a few really cool shots & set pieces in the first act but the chaotic editing & unfocused ideas made a mess on all fronts.

Brilliant! Great story and very well directed by Alex Kurtzman. Very good cinematography and visually stunning. Tom Cruise brings his usual presence and rest of cast all very convincing in character. Lots of action, drama, suspense, quirkiness, off beat humor, intrigue and emotion. Seems most "critics" only compare it to (the many) previous iterations and forgot completely to look at THIS movie. Memorable and entertaining
