Claudio C @Claudio666 Feb 11 In film nist / This Is Not a Film (2011) The Daily Life of a Awarded Iranian Director (12,269 - 11 Feb 2026 – Claudio Carvalho) In 2011, in Tehran, the awarded Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi was sentenced to six years in prison and forbidden to direct of write screenplays for twenty years and has been awaiting a verdict by the appeals court. On New Years Eve, he cannot leave home and decides to film his daily life using a camera and a cellphone. He shows his daughter’s big iguana Igi. He recalls and shows footage of his films "The Mirror" (1997) and "The Circle" (2000). He says that his last movies were forbidden by the Iranian justice and describes the screenplay of the film he intended to do. He also talks to the substitute janitor Hasan, who does a master's degree. My vote is seven. See more 11/04/2015 Mostly dull, but has a fascinating undercurrent of artistic rebellion. This guy just can't seem to help himself, his compulsion to film "something" even to a point of possible self incrimination against ridiculous censorship is in a way a silent scream of protest. It sort of reminds me of Mozart's plea in Amadeus to Joseph to let him just write his play, and for the emperor to take out the notes he doesn't like, he just needs to work.
