For those saying he was ugly in this movie, he was made to look disheveled in this role, with that weird mustache. He was beautiful!!! And then cried again. The moment of self-sacrifice revealed at the end was almost too painful to bear. As was Alan Rickman's incantation of the poem, "The Dead Woman." See more Nisha Y @Buff1980 03/25/2023 The performances seem like they are great, but I don't think the actors themselves were ever truly or madly convinced of the plot, and Stevenson does not look in anyway attracted to Maloney as the new love, no chemistry what so ever. And all the older men crooning over her and how beautiful she is... feels totally contrived. She is beautiful, her way, her being, but she looks odd and androgynous to the point of asexual.
