04/01/2022 Saw it years ago. My impression has always been that everyone agreed, it was important message and required viewing for all kids, especially those with low self esteem. Now, with suicide epidemic in youth, shocked to see all the negative comments from black people. Chris Rock had nothing but good intentions for all, especially people of color, including his lovely daughter. His style is direct to break through the media "matrix" of deception. Fake world pumped into your mind, constant barrage of images of an impossible standard of beauty. What chance does child have vs "Mad Men" of advertising? Chris is fighting a trillion dollar, beauty industrial complex, using best Madison Ave tactics to convince ALL people they're ugly, and no one will want them, unless they go broke, trying to look like a movie star. He exposes truths that caustic chemicals cause damage, hair loss. Then, heavy extentions, pull out what little hair is left. I suspect the negative audience reviews and comments are part of a smear campaign, funded by the same industry, who profit from suffering of it's victims... Primarily, people of color. I tweeted this link with 95% Fresh, and I got this: "There are not that many diverse critics who review films. There are more now than at the time of the release of Good Hair.The high Rotten Tomatoes score reflects that most of reviews are from yt critics. I see at least one Black woman in the group. Doc is about Black women's hair" This person obviously knows nothing about Rotten Tomatoes, and likely, never even saw the movie. She's just another paid shill, for greedy corporations, who don't care about the people they hurt. See more tony h @RT87589402 09/22/2021 It's most very highly probable that it's couldn't even have been the fault of Chris Rock himself, but the film is simply depressing, really. Then again, perhaps Rock should have rescoped the project once he realised the nature of the subject matter as presented in the end. It almost seems as if he's making fun of all of these people, even though he's presenting the show.
