Beauty in Black Season 2 is boring and doesn't even give us juicy melodrama. Go to Full Review

If you’re a completist, we won’t stop you. But the back half of the second season of Tyler Perry’s Netflix series lacks propulsion. Go to Full Review

I don’t know what it is about Tyler Perry and his obsession with propagating stereotypes to the point where his characters are so exaggerated that you can’t tell what’s normal and what’s not Go to Full Review

Beauty in Black is not prestige TV, but it’s a frothy and twisted soap that you might find yourself bingeing. Go to Full Review

AYANDA È @RT84173737 2d I just finished watching Beating Black, and honestly, what an amazing season. The second half felt a bit slow at times, but overall it really delivered. It answered a lot of the questions we had from season one and tied up most of the loose ends in a satisfying way, which I appreciated. When it comes to Tyler Perry, his writing might not always be perfect, but one thing you can’t deny is that he knows how to tell a story. This season was hilarious, entertaining, and kept me fully invested. It still had those frustrating moments where the characters make decisions that leave you annoyed, but that’s actually what makes it so good. You get so emotionally involved that it feels like you’re right there with them, like a fly on the wall. And please… somebody get Angel. Oh my gosh. That man will stress you out 😭. That kind of connection is hard to create, and not every show manages to do it. I’m really looking forward to seeing where the next season goes. See more Debbie R @RT92386079 3d I thought season 2 would have been better, but it only got worse. Why does every other word have to be a cuss word. And as many times the "N" word was used! And there is no way in hell that the higher ups would speak that way to their employees. This whole show is absolutely ridiculous. The story could be good, if only the writing was. Let's talk about the acting. Charles Malik Whitfield and Taylor Polidore are the ONLY good things about this so called show. They are the only two that know how to act, the others need acting classes. And if you're part of the LGBTQ community, you DO NOT want to watch this show. Let me rephrase that...PLEASE don't watch this, there is a lot of gay bashing in my opinion. I really don't know it got to season 2. See more Savage Y @RT09976205 6d I thought Tyler Perry's writing in this season would improve but he keeps making this series black and white with regards of showcasing he's feminist side as we've seen throughout he's work but he takes it to a whole different level in this as we keeps the image of making most of the men in this the villains and women the heros as consequence and repercussions fall onto the men whilst the women are reviewed as victims. Norman's wife and Jules's son were killed including other loved ones throughout the series but nothing was made out of it. The season finale was terrible because it kinda revealed that even if there were to be a season 3 nothing would change as the build up to Jules's revenge was wasted like they did with Norman's.Roy keeps getting worse as we only see glimpses of he's intelligence but they never make him the threat he has the potential to be, Charles is also taken down for some reason, With the main objective for this series made out to enrich feminism See more Frani D @FranTastic2026 6d I’m enthralled by both seasons. The plot has lots of twists and turns. Looking forward to a third season. Love the character development, convincing acting. HOOKED! See more VITALII H @freakynickison Mar 19 I’ve been waiting for the second part of this season. Mind you, it was released today and I already binged it. The ending was worth every minute of the show. I just wish there were some flashbacks from the past so we get to see why every family member turned out to be this fkd up. At least we got a glimpse at Kimmie & Mallory’s childhood later in the show. Also I would like to see more of the company where all of them work because we don’t have a chance to see any products or just how the company stays on market. Angel was really getting on my nerves throughout the entire season, like boy, sit tf down and be quiet. When it comes to everything else I have nothing bad to say about this show. I really liked it and I hope that it won’t take years for the next season. See more Piotr C @RT40110203 Nov 21 Pacing The show isn’t fast-paced at all — it feels slow. Scenes drag on, conversations repeat the same point several times, and many episodes could easily be half as long without losing anything. The stretched-out dialogue is probably the biggest reason the show feels like it’s spinning its wheels. Dialogue It’s drawn out to the limit. Characters often explain things that the viewer already understands, talk in circles, or give monologues that feel disconnected from the emotional moment. It’s classic Tyler Perry writing — theatrical rather than natural. Time Continuity Completely questionable. Some scenes look like they happen minutes apart when days should have passed, while other plotlines jump in time with no transition. It breaks immersion and makes some events feel unearned or rushed while the dialogue itself stays slow. Character Depth Flat as a pancake is the perfect description. Most characters operate on one trait or one emotional loop (the victim, the angry one, the mysterious one). They rarely grow, learn, or change. Motivations also feel inconsistent — they do things because the script needs them to, not because it fits who they are. See more Read all reviews
